Sunday Song of the Week

Check it out y'all and HAPPY EASTER!

Song of the Week

Since I am already here and you are totally rocking out to my song of the week I will share in my easter festivities. David and I slept in this morning and then got ready to go to church with his mother, brother and sister. I wore this new dress I bought a while ago that did not fit even a little and it fit so well today! Score. I have a picture on Amanda's camera and will post it eventually once she sends it to me (I am guessing in about a year).

After church we came home, took pictures, and changed clothes while Carolyn and David's aunts were cooking easter dinner. Once dinner was ready we pigged out. I am not even kidding y'all it was amazing but also disgusting how many brownies I ate. Then we had out yearly easter egg hunt. Now our easter egg hunt isn't for kids, it should be an 18 or over unless you have parental consent sort of situation. carolyn hides eggs in the most difficult places to find, I am talking burying them in some cases! This year there was $208 total in eggs on the property. We are each given a plastic bag (regulation size of course) and the boundaries of the egg hunt and then it is on. The first year I played, Amanda (David's little sister) came at me like a linebacker when she saw me reaching towards the ground. She thought I was going  for an egg, but I was only tying my shoe! This year we took off David and Amanda were pushing each other all over the yard fighting over eggs.

Now last year I won the egg hunt with the most money and least amount of eggs. This year not so much. I got 4 eggs and $4. That's right. David pocketed $46 and I got $4. I was definitely the joke of the afternoon. We were trying to make sure we found all the money and Eileen (David's aunt) asked me how much I found I said 4. She looked at me laughing and said "You're so precious I meant how much money did you get?" to which I replied "No, I meant $4". Everyone lost it. You probably had to be there, but it was pretty funny how bad I did this year. Then everyone got a $20 prize egg except Brad who opened his and it was empty because they forgot to put the last $20 in it HA! Then it was try not to fall asleep from the baked ham coma while we clean up.

On the way home, David and I went to Wal-Mart to pick up some plants and pots. We had been talking for days about planting some herbs and flowers. I quickly pushed through that ham coma and this is what we did!
HERBS!
I planted 5 kitchen herbs and painted chalkboard paint on my $2 pots so I can write the name of each herb on there! I also got a lilly last week from school for free and I planted that as well in another pot. I love planting stuff it was really fun! David planted strawberries in a big pot and we planted water mellon seeds in a little germinating green house that he will plant at his house once they sprout!

Over all it was a great day. Easter is my favorite holiday of the year for many reasons, but let's not forget the reason we celebrate.

Phillippians 3:10-12
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

God Bless and Happy Easter!
Emma
