Times They Are A Changing

    Hello all!! Well I have made some big decisions lately and I am excited to feel like my life is really about to change and grow! I have decided first off I AM MOVING TO NASHVILLE!!!! I can't wait I am so excited! My lease is up at my apartment on December 31st and then I am going to Nashville. I will student teach hopefuly in Wilson county next semester and graduate in May. I have already started looking into grad school and I am trying to get into Tennessee State University or Vanderbilt. Those are my top two choices. I have interviews and campus visits set up at TSU on November 6th and one still in the works for Vanderbilt hopefuly around the same time. I signed up for all 3 of my praxis tests split between Novermber 14th and January 9th. I will also be taking the GRE on October 24th. I am trying to get a job right now to start saving more money for next semester since it is going to cost quite a bit to move, but I have faith that God will provide!
     I am so excited to make a change in my life. I feel like i am finaly taking control over my future and making things happen for myself. I just woke up one day and decided I am going to do it and I am going to start taking the initiative to get everything i want in life. It is empowering to know that I can make a change, and to know that no matter how scary it might be once i take the first step things will start falling into place. I love Cookeville and I have had so much fun here but it is time to move forward. I can't stay in college forever and frankly i don't want to. All of my friends are for the most part gone. I love everyone I hang out with here, but I feel like if i don't act soon my life is gonna pass me by. David is trying to get a job in Nashville to and I pray that he will be able to move home soon. Things are starting to move realy fast and it is so exciting! I can't wait for the next chapter!!!
     The running... I ran 6 miles total last week, not my best week ever and i have run 2 so far this week and will be going tonight. I desperatly need new music on my ipod, but other than that its going well. I am so happy the whether is changing. Fall is my favorite season of the year and there really is nothing like taking off into the cool evening air and just being able to detatch and think. Running truly is my own personal time and it is a blessing that I have that. I need to keep it up. My weight loss has just stopped at this point and i need to kick it back up hard core for the next couple of months to get ready for the wedding and to get ready for training for the marathon in April! It would probably help if i stopped going out so much. Over the summer I think it was a big help when I stopped drinking, and I think it might be time for that again. I love socializing and hanging out but in my group of friends when we hang out its usually with a 6 pack and all those empty calories are not helping the fight at this point. haha so we will see what happens next!!
    Well now im off to drop my application off at starbucks! wish me luck!!! Love ya

Dedication

Hey all! So, I havn't written in about 3-4 months now but I have lots of great news for you! I have been running a lot! so far here are my accomplishments:

* longest run= 4.5 miles
* weight loss= 14 pounds
* average mile time= 10 minutes

I began slowly... the first day I really started running was June 1st. My boyfriend was in town and we went to run at the park. I made it less than 1/4 of a mile and thought I was going to die. So I went the next day and the next day and didn't stop going until I met all my goals. First it was 1 mile, then 1 1/2 mile and so on. I changed my entire eating habits and began to be more concious of the things we put in our bodies everyday. I also began teaching fitness classes and attending kickboxing! I now teach a water aerobics class caled H2O Extreme, work out 4-6 days a week running at least 2 miles and doing weights and extra cardio. It has been a long struggle to get to this point and I know I still have a ways to go! The marathon is in 7 months and the wedding is in 3 months!!! My overall weight loss goal is 33 pounds which will put me at 135. I currently weigh 154, so 14 down and 19 left to go! I want to be down at least 10 more before the wedding on December 20!

I am constantly amazed at how much has changed in the past 4 months. I love going to run and everytime I hit 2 miles I am reminded of the obstacles I have overcome to get there. It gives me confidence in life to know if I want something bad enough I can make it happen. I named this blog dedication because now I feel that is something I have and will continue to work towards in all aspects of my life. Including this blog!

School has started back and I am really enjoying this semester! I have decided to work towards grad school and have subsequently dropped my only art studio class. It was a tough decidion for me to make but I am excited to be doing something different with my time in school. Now instead of working on projects I am taking notes and writing papers, but I love it! It has given me the opportunity to focus more on me and my future and what I want to do with my life. I have some new developments in the making and will be writing about them as they come, but for now I am excited to report that I am doing well, better than I have been in a long time! I have a great workout partner, Raegan, and we will be going to run at 8 tonight! =) yay!!
